Most appointments last between 30 and 60 minutes.
Yes. We administer sedation prior to the final injection so your pet passes peacefully.
We do not recommend feeding a meal within 2 hours of the appointment. However, we do encourage having their favorite snacks available. These can be dog treats or even special treats such as steak, fries, ice cream, etc.
We accept credit, debit, check, or cash. For safety reasons, we do not carry cash with us at appointments, so exact change is required. There is a $50 fee for bounced checks.
In most cases, yes. We have several options to help reduce the stress of fearful or aggressive pets to make the process as smooth as possible. Please call us and speak with us directly so we know how best to help your loved one and ensure we have scheduled appropriate time for special cases.
We do not accept CareCredit currently. Financial help may be available through local services such as Animal Humane to assist with euthanasia costs. Please contact them directly for information.
We currently use Lasting Paws crematorium here in Albuquerque. If you would like to use Best Friends crematory, you will need to arrange payment and pickup directly with them.
With private cremation, your pet is kept separate from other pets during the cremation process. Only his/her cremated remains are returned to you. Our private cremation includes an urn with name engraving.
Communal cremation means that multiple pets are present during the cremation process and remains are not kept separated. Cremated remains are not returned.
Cremated remains that are not returned to pet parents are scattered in the Florida mountains near Las Cruces.
